The signing process

The following summarizes what happens during a signing event.

Process overview: Signing

  1. A workgroup administrator or signer submits software for signing as a signing set.
  2. The service manager reviews and approves or rejects the signing set.
  3. After approval from the service manager, DigiCert uses a digital certificate to sign the software with its private key.
  4. DigiCert then returns the signed software and the certificate (with its public key).
  5. A workgroup administrator or signer downloads the signed software along with the certificate and deploys it.
